Eight survivors of childhood sexual abuse were involved in a 6 week long "Discoveries" group headed by councellors from New England Health in Glen Innes at the end of 2001. The painting below was created by the women of the group on our final day. The original is now hanging in the offices of the New England Community Health service at the hospital in Glen Innes. It has been taken to many women’s conferences and community health meetings across the state of NSW. It is planned to take it as a banner to the Reclaim the night March in Armidale in 2002. It proves how cohesive we became in just a few weeks and how we began to look towards a brighter future for ourselves and each other.
