Hardcopy Kit Acnowledgements The Prisoners of the Night Project 1997, has
been a collaborative project which has captured the enthusiasm and support of
women across New South Wales and over the borders. It represents the
collective wisdom of everyone who has participated. This collection of resources and stories is
the result of wonderful conversations with women on the run - over lunch, over
coffee and over the phone. Thank you to those who shared your stories,
practical wisdom, your resources and photographs of Reclaim the Night in your

Special thanks are also due to Rain Moya who
generously gave us permission to share her artwork with you, for use
associated with Reclaim the Night events. Thank you also to Alison Cone for developing
Rain’s artwork into a ’high
tec’ format so it can be incorporated into flyers, posters, badge-making
etc. Thank you also to those involved with
developing the idea of the community service announcement and professionally
producing it: We thank cinematographer Mariana Masuric
(’The Castle’) who headed the all female film crew. Thank you to the whole
crew, who are members of the Women’s Film and Sound Network, for providing
your expertise during the wonderful week end of filming the announcement.

Night Collective members for sharing information and resources you have produced
over the years, along with advice, support and putting us in touch with Reclaim
the Night groups across Australia and in particular with new rural groups in
NSW. It’s been great working with you. Thank you to the staff at the Women’s
Information and Referral Service, Department for Women in Sydney for the use of
your 1800 numbers and TTY number and for redirecting phone calls from women as a
