Mar 11 Wollongong There will be a launch of "utterbox" a CD of nine Wollongong womyn performers and musicians on the 11th of March at the Ampitheatre. Mar 9 IWD Melbourne Working Women's Health rally on the street outside premises, 83 Johnston St Fitzroy, at 2.30 to remember the origins of IWD - the activism of women textile workers. The original protest of women textile workers, held in New York in 1907, called for a 10 hour day and better wages. Ninety-one years later, in Australia, many immigrant women textile workers do not have the luxury of a 10 hour day, nor are they paid a living wage. We need to keep up the protest - REMEMBER IMMIGRANT WOMEN TEXTILE WORKERS ON INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY.
